yea need to know what is gone....

but those prices are still big numbers

if you could get away with just the ring and pinion with fitting you have almost hit the cost of that whole axel

with the way you only managed to spin just one rear wheel it would seems like you would need the LSD as well

you could get prices from http://www.ring-pinion.com/

and see what it would cost to fix it instead of swapping out an axel
at least you would know you got good new bits in there

Right, the diff has been looked at! It turns out that the isnt much left in tact! Lumps of ripped off metal was mainly found, bits of cog and the like!
So basicly is knackered, only one half shaft left in tack! :(  :(

That salvaged axle's soundin' like the best bet.

Its looking like my Jeep days may be drawing to an end
If I cant find the cash before the week is over I will be selling her and cutting my losses! I have to have a motor for work and cant have the ZJ laid up when, even with a screwed diff she could pay for a car.

I have'nt met you yet!, but i know you would not be happy without a jeep and froading,  i know it seems like one problem after another,  but where there's a will.

Unless of course your thinking of selling the zj and getting another jeep?

Owen does your car insurance cover you as some do for third party driving a car if so  that'll be the insurance covered so all you need is a run around with tax/MOT

Secondly I've seen a bloke mentioned on Jeep Club  Jeepman Jeff? who sources Jeep parts anyone know about him maybe he could help?

If you sell your Grand you won't get much for it as it is and I reckon you'll regret it and want another in a few weeks

Hope you can sort it mate
