96 Grand Cherokee axles
« on: February 01, 2009, 12:08:24 PM »

Hi

Both my axles needs replacing / repairing. The rear was making a bearing noise and now clunks and grinds and is undriveable. The front has had the cv joints removed and the halfshafts left rattling about in the axle.

What is the most cost effective repair? Should I buy a breaker on ebay, buy all the shafts and gears, or scrap this motor and buy another?

Will replacing all the internals fix the axles or is case damage likely?

Thanks for that.

I already contacted the one with the front axle, but he's sold the rear. I think the rear axle might be too new for mine, but not really sure. The whole car is probably better than mine, it might be better to swap my LPG over.
