Title: A funny clicking and squeaking sound!!
Post by: Cockney Boy on October 28, 2012, 09:39:39 PM
Noticed today that I'm getting a funny clicking and squeaking noise from m near side wheel area. Could it be the DS UJ or bearing or both? The sound does simmer down after a while.

Answers on a post card.....

What's your recommendations on a replacement one? Worth upgrading or stick with a standard one?

I've always greased them before and after events, who would be a good refurb company to use?

I've used reco-prop in Luton. Top job but not cheap if you ask for quick turnaround

Inspected the shaft today and there is play in the lower UJ and some slight movement in the slide post too. Will be taking it off on Sunday, but the four bolts at the TC end look like fun to remove  :jpshakehead:

Steve you little sinner - dropping the skid can also be a problem if you have a sized bolt.

I have a nasty feeling that a few of the rivnuts are loose, and I don't have a half inch or 12mm tool to replace them :(
