Have you sold theTJ?
-
I will be there but only Sunday,
Its Georgia's Second Birthday party on the Saturday so I think I need to be present for that.
Must ensure the next little Hoban is born not to mess up with the Birties calendar.
-
Yes Ezz sadly I had to let her go. Luckily a freind still owns it now. I sold it to fund completing the buggy.
I will be bringing this
-
Very nice......... :icon_super:
-
Thank you
-
So has anyone got round to building an RTI ramp for a Saturday night shootout? I have sadly not got round to it. :banghead:
-
Looks like IOM's favourite of cocking a wheel up trig point again then???? :icon_super:
-
One can but try, not sure the trig point will be all that impressed though :hysterical:
-
Had a terrible thought that I might have a clash with a wedding but luckily not so I'll be there :icon_super:
-
so, what do you guys want ? usual stuff or any thing new
We can do punches, trials sections, night run, a few fireworks if folks chip in, a fire !
-
a bit of r/c crawling ?
-
Punches, trials.......something extreme......?
fire.......keep Bubba away :icon_biggrin:
Will be aiming for before lunch on Friday if I can help then will.
-
But its so purdy
-
All sounds good to me I would love a night run to give the lights a try. I am happy to bring some pallets again for the fire. I dont mind setting some secions for a trial. Also happy to do any extreme stuff.
-

The Birty Dastards main offroading, camping and social event for the year
-
The Birty Dastards main offroading, camping and social event for the year
Are novices welcome ?
-
Everyone's welcome, it's very relaxed. If you're a knob driving too fast or being crazy someone will have a word but even then we are a friendly bunch. It's a good social, off road drive, time to watch others doing trials and stuff and also drink and natter around a campfire.
-
Hell yes everyone is welcome hippies and landy owners too novice expert numpty alike
-
I can vouch for the level of welcomeness as a fairly new chap I have thoroughly enjoyed every visit to cheapfest.
-
I will be attending - failing WW3 that is!!!
-
I will be attending - failing WW3 that is!!!
What you bringing? Apart from Porto and a funny accent :)
-
I was planning to sneak over, cleverly disguised as a numpty with a funny accent, but SWMBO has other ideas. :icon_rolleyes:
-
spark up the Huey and do a low level raid up to Trig Point Bazz :icon_super:
-
Bazz get your Aussie ass over to CF :icon_super:
-
Jez..you might never know how much I wanted to do just that! CB, in the interests of peace and tranquility, international relations, dog shows and all that..I'm gonna have to pass.

I'd like to come along, what do i have to do? Just turn up or is there some way of registering. Will probably bring a mate in a backup vehicle, it'll be the furthest my CJ has travelled since i bought it in 1998!

You can turn up and pay on the day. Most people camp from Friday to Sunday. Toilets and running water on site, bring your own tucker and drink and enjoy the weekend :)
-
I have an A frame
Come along and bring cj pual you would be uber welcome and cj fans and fixing if needed would be on hand
-
is it suitable for a boggo wj hopefully with new at's on?

I always thought if a car has no t&t it has to go on a trailer ie- it's tyres can't touch the road, not sure, I might be wrong????
-
thought the car just had to be in road worthy state
bubba would yours fit to my zj
-
correct, if it has no t&t then no tyres should be on the road. so even a spectacle rigs ruled out too. A frames are a grey area too seeing as the car behind becomes an unbraked trailer and even with jeeps impressive limits rules them out but then ive never been troubled using a frames but that's probably more to do with less cops who know their jobs being on the road these days.
-
I don't believe unbraked dolleys are allowed at all anymore, I think a braked one is ok though? As for A-frames, I have no idea!
I'm hoping to attend this with the Wrangler. Need to try and fix my leak and it should be up for some beasting around the place
-
Being very new to this off road lark, and birtys, i have some questions,
what's the format to the weekend ? Or is there not ??
Will a complete newbie be ok ?
Is it just turn up and get on with it ?
Sorry for questions, i've read all posts but can't find much
Si
-
Nothing too formal, generally the site is open for a free drive around from about 0900-1800 Saturday and a bit less Sunday. There's some organised stuff like trials sections, punches to find and drive to, a night drive and maybe more.
Turn up Friday for camping and a social, Saturday am or Sunday am.
Others may add more.
-
This event is ideal for newbies.
Plenty of people on hand to show you the ropes, Birty's is not very formal full stop but no one behaves like a muppet so dont worry about scrap yard specials being hooned around, that is not tolerated :icon_winkle:
Feel free to turn up at anytime, we dont bite too much :003: :icon_jook:
-
Thanks for replies....
This will be our first jeep event......
Is it cook your own dinner Saturday night or do you do something ??????
Si
-
I think on Saturday we either cook our own or order a Pizza. But there is a nice Fish and Chip shop in Bewdley which is just up the road.
Im going for Pizza as i tend ot have accute CBA on saturday nights :) oh and rather large rockets after dinner too :97:
-
I thought you were on pills for the 'rockets'?

Things are looking good for getting to this. Should be in the jeep to. How much is this event per day/weekend?
-
All details here http://cheapfest.co.uk/
You can still pay on the door though :icon_winkle:
-
I will be A Framing the XJ over, same as I did to the last event.
Not had any issues using it in the past whether for the Jeep or other things.
-

What we really need is jay to rear end a cop car whilst A framing his jeep to get a clear outcome on the issue

Leave it with me, if someone is going to get pulled it will be me.

You'll be fine, half the coppers don't know the law on it anyway..
-
The best way is to do what i did,and buy an A-frame that has the braking attachment part,no questions at all then.
-
Just bought this as well, but yet to try it out

Are we going to all bring some fireworks this year?
-
Tank has an A frame
And very useful it is too!
Tank got me massively out of the shit at CF 2011 after Rent-a-Cunt fucked me over and refused to recover me home
Cheers Tank :icon_super:
I'm hoping to be there, but only as a speckled 'tater (we're only here for the beer :003:). The YJ definately won't be as it's not turned a wheel for a year and needs TLC/tax/mot/insurance before it goes anywhere.
The question is, how far round will a standard Toyota Celica get? :017:
-
Panic had a Smart car on the top once I believe.
-
Are we going to all bring some fireworks this year?
I'm bringing some bud

Thinking of having a cheeky bid on a Cherokee on ebay, easy way of getting all the bits I need for the YJ (rear springs, headlights, AW4 conversion etc) and using it for Cheapfest first. Gotta make sure it all works :003:

You can borrow the braked A.frame if you want, its much easier to use and store than the dolly, or the dolly if you are feeling strong and brave.Im not on here much,or anywhere that much as no internet at home but call/text me on 07976553630 if you want to arrange it

great weekend .......even if I did mullar it after 4 hours on Śat........ :hysterical:
Back now ....... Journey home well relaxing in the 'Road Train' :icon_super:..........
for those who might be interested........it will tow at whatever speed you choose........overtake 40 footers up inclines at 60 on M6 where ZJ was doing 40.......... And shock of shocks seems like it uses less fuel than towing with the ZJ.......fingers crossed I am impressed...........
highly recommended if ya gates are wide enough :icon_super:
As usual thanks to all who always set it all up for us.........
-
Back safe, all unloaded nd damp stuff drying out. Another great Birty's event, thanks to everyone.

Really glad I made the effort, albeit minus the Jeep. What's not to love about standing in a field talking bollocks with friendly, like minded faces? :003:
Also thanks to Donk and CB for Jeep related tat, it's helping the mojo to get the YJ back up and running :icon_super:
