CJ 2" LIFT SHACKLES
« on: April 28, 2006, 09:20:58 PM »

Advice needed..........have just fitted some 2"lift shackles to my CJ.They were originally Suzuki heavy duty ones i bought new off the bay. They fitted the front with no modification. The back springs on the  CJ are wider than Suzi ones so i drilled out connecting bars and used bolts to enable them to fit the wider spring and bracket.Seems to have worked a treat but having fitted them,is there anything i need to do to steering or anything similar,or am i okay seeing as its only a 2 inch lift????Thanks in advance for any info/advice :)  :)  :)

just check your distances tyres to chasis by turning and measuring the gap turn it to full lock to the left and then to the right  you now may but i dont think so have a smidge more lock on one side if so on the drag link from the steering box you will see to half inch 13mm bolts un do them and then lengthen the drag link by twisting the tube joint un till it is the same gap lock to lock
