242j t case into 97 zj 4.0
« on: March 18, 2016, 11:59:55 AM »

Hi all! I have a chance at a 242j transfer case with the better drive options
- 2 Wheel Drive
- 4 Part-Time
- 4 Full-Time
- Neutral
- 4 Low

What would I need to do to swap it into my zj? I believe it's from an early 4.0 xj

Think you just need new or altered prop shafts

At worst you need to swap the input shaft from the 249

I think it's the depth of the input shaft that s different . May have look at the collection of TC I've acquired
