If you spend £65 on what looks like a very old rig you just don't know what you're getting.

This is a new rig, well I assume it is, but I also found a forum on CB's I searched for CB forums and eventually found one, but there are several internet sites who are selling equipment new and used and they all appear priced around the same for what ever you want, in fact I am surprised on how extensive the amount of equipment there is out there.

That CB in the picture is a CEPT only rig (the PR27GB label). It's legal to use here, but only has the EU channels. Everyone in the UK uses the UK only channels.
It's a rare rig, but sadly not much use in the UK - it can't tx/rx our frequencies.

Sorry mate. There have been a lot of people either selling crap CBs on eBay, or getting rid of useless CBs that they bought off eBay in good faith.

Easiest place to get a CB is either track down your local CB shop, or, if you don't have one and want to feel and see it first, Maplin keep a perfectlt good one in stock, along with aerials and magmounts.

Make sure you get an 80 channel one marked "PR 27/97". All UK spec CBs made in the last 10 years do.

You need to be a bit experienced to know what you're getting off the bay.

Aparantly the new one I am thinking of in my link is compared to or equivalent to the midland 78 and the Danita 3000 whatever that is.

Just had a look and its a cb made in Denmark and there are specific models for uk etc

Just partaken in the purchase of said cb and bits, even put a few logs on the fire, bout 100 actually,

Just a thought about the burner. If you are going up on hilltop and want to spend some time chatting, make sure you can roll off from your parking space, because a 100W burner draws 200W from the battery.... My 2M Alinco DR112E was only 45W, but it finished the battery in less than an afternoon on top of Clent.
