does any one have?
« on: June 01, 2009, 09:35:30 PM »

does any one have a set of bearings or a rebuild kit for a yj dana 30 axle. the reason i ask is that i need the numbers off the bearings themselves not the part number. i need to rebuild me axle but i gotta do it as cheap as pos so i spoke to the nice chap at dana and he said if i can get the numbers he might be able to help. i think this will be a cheaper option see. any help would be gratefully received guys.

I'm just doing my XJ Dana 30. It's high pinion with shims rather than crush sleeve on the pinion. Is that the same as on th YJ?? I can get you the bearing numbers if they'll be useful.

What an arse of a job! I'll dig out the bearings numbers later, I also have some carrier bearings with the centre enlarged to use as setup bearings. If you want to borrow them I could post them to you??

Carrier bearings, Timken LM 501349  778 - bearing race 501314  778

Pinion (rear most, pressed into diff housing), Timken 02872 - bearing race 02820

Unfortunately I'd pressed the new bearing onto the pinion shaft before I realised that the number on the old bearing was unreadable. However, I still have it and could post you the actual bearing if it'd be any good?? Sorry for not getting you the complete set
