« on: October 20, 2012, 12:57:41 PM »

Can anyone tell me why my heater control is only working on the 4th speed and not on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd. This has just happened on my XJ and on the wifes kj. Help please

The resistor pack that controls the speeds has gone. You can order a new one from Magnim automotive in Maidstone. A r pack for a 96 is £47 later models are cheaper. :)

You can get them from £25 inc shipping from rockauto.com, to your door in a few working days via FedEx. They're in the heating section under blower motor control module/ resistor.

Thanks for the link,I'm well impressed with this company, they even had an actuator pin for the kj's ignition costing £18 rather than £800 over here as you have to buy the whole upper steering column. 2 resistors and the actuator pin plus vat and shipping cost £63 not bad.  :098:

I've had a quite a few things off them over the years. You'll get an email in several days with a 5% off code valid for a couple of months or so. Forgot to mention that as you can normally find a valid one floating about the net. If you click on one of the links in the actuator pin description they have a link to the video showing how to install it too.
