Faith restored in Jeep Stealership.
« on: August 11, 2008, 05:52:16 PM »

Been searching all over for ATF+4 and finally thought check the dealer NO Carriege charge!!!!.
Got a quote and quickly ran round to rip the guys arm off as I thought the price must be wrong as this stuff appeared to be like platinum.

£12.45 for 4 litre drum. so I bought a lot. F8ck me Halfords charge £8 for a liter of AFT 2 or 3. So AM WELL CHUFFED.

Got talking to a very chatty mechanice who obviously liked Jeep, he gave me loads of tips and suggestions that for a lot of Jeep parts the dealer is now the best bet as they have had to bring prices down dramatically dfue to bad press.

Things like the importance of changing the oil in a Dana axle as they were not well put together from the factory and they had had to do a lot of rebuilds. Making sure to add the lsd ADDITIVE TO THE BACK AXLE.

You must use ATF 4 in the box if it indicates so or expect damage to teh box over time.

Correct Transfer box fluid etc etc .

The 4 liter petrol is alomost bombproof whereas the Diesel is weak anless well maintained.

I suggest that you get the forms from the job centre and the next time you go in to the showroom hand them to the sales man and politelty suggest that he should fill them in quick as you heard that there wont be many vehicles being sold and he should get to the head of the queue.

Also ask him who his boss is and say that as a member of a very active Jeep, Chrysler, whatever. internet club you hold his bollocks in your hand, no shop assistant should ever underestimate to power of the internet, particularly a car shop assistant.

Tell the Pompiss (sorry never could spell) ass to get off his fat arse and help the storeman and he might learn something as the storemen usually know more than any salesman.
