Yeah I had it rebuilt and the breather mod done, it eventually packed up altogether... :roll:

So how does the pre-load work using shims, or will it make sense when I take it apart..?

For a second I thought there was an answer to how the gearbox breaths, as it has no breather pipe and does not breath through the bell housing and cant share the transfer box breather. (Manual  of course I am talking here)

D30 & D35 crush spacer to get bearing preload



D44 shim to get preload

I was warned about it when I decided to buy an auto but didnt think I would be daft enough to go into deep water.. 8-)
