I got an advisery on my recent MoT saying that the N/F drive shaft had a bit of play (too much).
Will that explain the 'clacking' noise I get when pulling away and when trying to park in a space etc?
I suspect it is because I've jacked the front up and can replicate the noise by turning the wheel a small amount and the 'clack' seems to be the slack in the uj. It isn't tight in anyway, just loose.
Is this a serious problem or can I run with it for a week or 2?
Will trying to get grease into it make much difference?
Will running in RWD instead off Full Time 4 make any difference?
Is it easy enough to DIY? And if so what do I need, just a new UJ or a whole new shaft? and will a 2nd hand one from a scrappy be any use?
