if its dry for a few hours tomorrow might try to set the ignition timing, my manual only covers the 304 and not sure what to set it at, I'm guessing from what I trawled on the net its going to be about 8*BTDC. can anyone confirm or correct this?

also there seems different settings for manuals and autos, engine was built as an auto but is now a manual, I guess that is for the kick down or should I still set as if an auto?

only details I have for the donor car is it was a 1979/80 FSJ auto.

10 rings a bell set as if it was for manual  most setting for auto are on the carb kickdown and higher tickover stuff

hit a small problem, its run out of petrol, sort of stops you doing the timing :lol_hitting:

cant be arsed to walk to petrol station and Tans taken the trundle bus for a day at her m8s house so in my usuale way I created half a dozen unnecessary jobs  :003: like clock the dizzy so vacuum don't his water pipe while tuning, removed and cleaned thermostat housing (that did need doing as was a small leak on that) and generally tided and rerouted stuff under the bonnet.

got a bit done today, fitted fenderwells, bleed power steering, sorted indicators and fitted new rear lights (bulbs kept falling out of old lights), mounted the centre consol and fitted one wing. did have one problem, off side header gasket has blown probably because I ran the engine with 2 bolts missing

[attachment=1]
[attachment=2]

have had an idea for a side mounted receiver which will double as a step to get in, and before the jokes start yea I know I got short legs
