« on: March 14, 2010, 04:24:10 PM »

Hi can anybody help, while tidying my engine compartment I found these two connectors behind the diesel filter, on has a red center the other blue, they do not plug together they are both the same gender.
I am also struggling for an idiots guide to  with plenty of illustrations.

Hi they might be, I can't find anything in range for them to plug into, they were taped up and I think I will just re tape them and pretend that they are not there unless anyone can identify them.

All the lights work, the cruise control works, heater blower works on speed 4 only, oil gauge not working, intermittent check gauges fault,  turbo not not kicking in and it is showing error code 12  on the mil code,  but I don,t think it is anything to do with them and I am gradually working through these faults.
thanks Greg

Just a thought.

Do you have a light mounted on the underside of the bonnet?

Some people removed the engine bay light since it has been known to stay on and drain the battery.

hi thanks Brian I have had a look there is no where to plug them into, but few weeks a go I Had some water in the diesel and the light did come on(yes their was water in the filter less than half a tea spoon)  maybe it has been changed. Both of these wires are long enough to reach the top of the gearbox I had assumed maybe these were for an automatic box but mine is manual.
thanks Greg

If the plug is for water sensor it will come on when you go through a lot of water and the end gets wet - it then goes off when it dries out :icon_rolleyes:
