Progress is slow at the moment due to other commitment, but I am doing bits and bobs. Here is the grill structure just sprayed with Reface so I can get a really good smooth finish on it. The amount of filler used on this to build up the rusty bits and the bent bits and the sub-standard pressing is frightening. Also going to try the fenders out of Carbon Fibre - Blingy I know, but how cool will it look?

[attachment=1][attachment=2]

Foamed one of the fenders to support it and fill the rust holes, will show y'all when I can touch it without sticking to it.

Frame is almost ready for spraying with POR-15.

It is just going to be updated. First I need to get everything sorted and back on the road.

Fuel injection is a happening thing, just at a loss to which manifold to buy, have been looking at fabricating one, but I my TIG welder only does DC. Anyone on here an ally welder?

As funds permit, I will upgrade the axles to Dana 60's ( got the rear already), but will have to build the front one. I really want to change the front suspension to coilovers, and have a picture in my head of how I am going to do it, not sure about the rear, leaf springs are good for lots of torque. Looking to achieve about 6 - 8 inches lift in the long run, with the biggest tyres I can fit under it.

The engine I am hoping will have about 450 HP N/A, and when I turbo it should go to about 900 or thereabouts.

I have 3 TH400 gearboxes to play with, but seriously want to stick in a Tremec T56.

All the above is up in the air. It is what I WANT to do, not actually what will happen. Like I said, I need to pull finger and actually get some decent progress done on it. Bodywork is the killer, as I am too much of a perfectionist.

To speed up the resto, you should sub-contract the bodywork to bulldog  :hysterical:

Stuff happening, slowly.....

[attachment=1] Foaming a flare to keep its shape whilst filling in all the holes.....

[attachment=2] 1200 sanded the grill structure, ready for its final coat of paint then polish......

[attachment=3]And making new centres for someones lawnmower / tractor because they only had 2 studs holding it on, and decided to put the outrigger on, so the wheel centre destroyed itself.

Progress is slow due to other commitments, but progress is being made. My ickle sandblaster is working overtime getting stuff all nice and rust free for prepping. Chassis is nearly done, just got to dip the front bit to get the rust out of the inside.......

[attachment=1][attachment=2]

Going to try this Eastwood stuff. Supposed to be really good, although it is going to ruin me....

TBH mate had given up hope, and have a buyer comin in a few days, but if that falls thru will come up when i deliver bubba his sankey, but that wont be until i get the J10 back (pre xmas  :003: )

Even if the buyer takes the Chief I will hide the tailgate from him for ya

What were the doors like on ya new one?

Doors are more filler than doors to be honest. On the whole, I am really disappointed in that chief. Was done over by the bloke as all the good spares he had for it he sold separately.
