I know its hard to believe that the paint guru needs to ask this, but I do! Im gonna paint the TJ flares matt black before they go on the CJ, do u reckon I have to bother with a primer (like below), or slap it straight on after a bit of scratching up?

this is interesting i worked with an old boy who was a a paint shop bod and he used to paint plastic /rubber arches with out primer
