Is this tyre safe?
« on: April 21, 2010, 09:16:47 PM »

As part of the grand clearout all the tyre sets are going, and one set I have is some General grabber AT 33x12.50x15, but when I was moving them tonight I noticed one of them has a patch on the sidewall (see pic below), it looks as tho a slither of black rubber has gone (must be a micro fraction of a millimetre tho), never seen it before so was wonderin if anyone has any clues to whats going on? Is it safe? I dont wanna be sellin duff stuff.

Cheers

white letter tyres have white sidewalls with black rubber overlaid, someone has scrubbed the sidewall on a kerb etc and worn a bit away, should be fine as long as there are no cuts

A few years ago (maybe 15!) I had a set of BFG AT's second hand and one tyre had the above described ring of white. Simples solution, fit with the black wall outside (my prefered choice anyway). As already said it is a cosmetic blemish and only suffered by those peoples that prefer the YeeeeeHaaawwww white writing on show.
