Will a CB from the states work over here? I found a decent deal and want to know before purchasing.

yes it will work but you won't find anyone over here on the same bands other than  the police an ambulance services etc , so you could get yourself in trouble as they like to hunt you down.
You can get fully sorted over here for less than £100  if you are in the midlands there is a guy in kidderminster who runs a cb shop and can sort you out.

What he said. If you have no local CB shop, then Maplin do an 80 channel rig which is on sale
for 60 quid, then you'll need a 15 quid antenna and a mount - they sell the lot.

UK CBs come in 2 flavours. 40 and 80 channel. The 40 channel are UK only sets and may not be used
in Europe. The 80 channel have the UK40 and EU40 channels. You may use this in Europe, but only
the EU40 channels. EU40 only sets aren't widely available in the UK, and UK users don't much use
the EU channels anyway.
