Thing is? Can you get 16.5" rubber in Blighty?

Or should I pass on this? :icon_super:

Modding???? Tis a bit grown up for a joiner :jpshakehead: ...... Methinks that will be your area of expertise :icon_super:

Were you thinking of turning 5 on 5.5s or 5 on 4.5s to 8 lug or making spacer adapters ???

Hey Bulldog you must be reading my (what's left of it ) mind....... 33s to get to Cheapfest and 39.5 or similar for mayhem when there :icon_twisted:

44s on the CJ or a FSJ?

Must have been a 'red mist' moment or not having the doors on for the first off roading this year........

Was only afterwards that I thought of all the time I've spent putting winches at both ends..... and why was it that I chose not to use them :jpshakehead:

Just throwing the idea out there? What's that PCD of the 8 lugs? Couple of thoughts I have are; 1- lathe centres out of a old set of 16's and replace the centres with new machined ones? 2- Remove the centres of the eight lug rims and fit them to a set of 16's?
It will take time patience to get spot on trueness. But interesting....

Similar to a 'Pirate' thread then? New centres in old wheels..... Like turning H1 wheels from 7" backspace to 4 " backspace with new centres....Yes I like it.... Just need the wheels now...

Also "seen" for sale £600..................

4 Hummer H2 wheels and tyres

They are the alloy ones in a 17" flavour but with a 5" backspace 8.5" wide and with 315x70x17  AT which equals 34.6" tall

Trouble is all the affordable big mudders are 16" flavour :jpshakehead:

something we did on the beach buggy was to use truck wheels on the back and made adaptor plates the convert 6 stud to 4 stud, might be worth investigating

just a bit of free info about hummer alloys a lot of them fracture in the rim so if you get a set make sure you check em,the hummdinger is on its 3rd set due to them fracturing after hitting pot holes

I know that in USA via 'Pirate 4x4 forum" that they get centres cut for them and re-centre H1 wheels to get less backspace from the 7" that they come with.

So I can't see why we couldn't get any type of 16" rim and get 8 lug centres cut to  recentre the rim  to get the correct 8 lug pattern
