Got the disco's with the centre tube with pins to hold it in place top and bottow (4WD?)
What do I need to do to stop the stabiliser bar swinging down once disconnected ?

some people weld something to the chassis and clip to it....others just use cable tie but it never lasts.......and they re-tie and re-tie and re-tie get the message.

Stew, a cable tie will hold for the time/day your offroad :shock:
Nowt wrong with welding a clip thats the best long term solution, but a cable tie cost only pennies and does the job perfectly

get yerself down to b&q & have a look at the brackets the have, I got two little u shaped brackets & simply driilled & screwed them to the chassis rail.

If you take a look at the front of the wheel arch, towards the top, you'll see that there's a a triangular metal sheet that's just behind the indicators, but on the inside, that's used to mount the wiring loom. This has a hole on the inside edge that's not used for anything so far as I can see.
You can either thread a zip tie through this hole and through your anti-roll bar, or you can do what I've done, which is to buy a stainless eye bolt and mount this through that hole, facing the wheel. Then just put a zip tie through the eye and through the hole at the end of your anti-roll bar.
Dead easy, and no drilling. You can get a suitable stainless eye bolt from a chandlers - there must be loads up your way due to the canal.

Worth mentioning that it's best to move the anti-roll bar up as far as possible before securing with with a zip tie. That way you can be sure that your tyres won't touch it during articulation.

or you can try the Woody Deluxe Swaybay holding device. Get down to your local camping shop and and buy a length of the nylon webbing and 2 of the quick release plastic buckle (the type you find on rucksacks). With a little bit of sewing you will have made up 2 straps, all you need to do then is pop rivet or bolt it onto the bulkhead Mort described above. Will cost under a fiver, is quick to do up and release, no more fumbling trying to do up cable ties or cut them afterwards :shock:

what made you buy that style of disconnect rather than JKS ones ?
Personally I've never liked cable ties, not positive enough although loads of people use them. Be careful and check that on full lock with wheel stuffed right up in the arch that your muds don't rip the cable ties apart as they touch the sway bar.

i have had the currie front sway bar on one of my wranglers, it works ok once you set it for what you need......on my new wrangler my choice is the teraflex system......now that is some bit of kit...twist and loc, the best ever.
