right.......the bloody lights have packed up on jeep#2....

i have side lights but no main beam or dipped.....the main beam light on the dash is on all the time & the column switch does feck all.......

sounds to me like the column switch is fecked...am i right???

Check all the fuses under the dash first.

If you still can't find the problem it's worth checking the wiring loom.

Any other problems with the elecs too??? Could be a bad earth if the instument panel light is on all the time.. but would start with fuses first

have a look at the loom down by the airfilter box, theres an 8 pin connector there, see if thats frazzled, mine was so was me mates :wink:

latest is drivers side headlamp working fine, feck all from nearside.......

further investigation this afternoon has seen wisps of smoke coming from behind the drivers side headlamp along with a strong smell of burning.......gonna strip it down later & have a nose!!! :shock:

thanks for those kind words of encouragement!!! :lol: or should i thank Monty Python???

anyway, last nites nosing discovered a molten lump of plastic that once was the headlamp plug!!! bit of corrosion, bit of arcing & there is, i hope the problem!!

gonna go nick a plug off my old montego in the yard & rewire it..........
