get yourself gold teeth a gun and lots of drugs ..............they will leave you the hell alone...........or go to a tinting shop and ask if it can be removed and a mild tint put back on generaly the filth will only nab you if the front door glass is very dark

i dont know offhand what it is but there is a certain level of tint allowed on the windows, blackout on the back one, then lighter on the front doors and then lighter still on the windscreen. Is your after market pimping? If manufacture spec then i dont see the prob

give it a while and our resident vosa dood will be along to advise

Like I said..... remove it from the front windows. All the others rearward of the front doors will be fine, you can paint 'em black, replace them with plywood or cheese, it don't matter. Just the driver and front passanger windows and the windscreen can't be any darker than factory tint.

If you have factory dark 'privacy glass' (black like wot limos have) it won't extend to the front doors, they will definitely be aftermarket, the factory never puts privacy glass in the front.

There is a set figure for tint on the front windows and windscreen (i think its no more than 12%) all police forces have handheld devices called "tintman" this can easily and quickly measure the tints by placing 2 small pads either side of the screen. My force has a couple and people do use them. There is a degree of discretion used by generally if they were bad they would be issued with either a ticket (non-endorsable i think) or a vdrs which means you have to get fixed and present to a mot testing station within 7 days or face a fine. A lot of officers will just tell you to peel it off the screen and give you suitable advice!, ive seen some really dark ones on front screens which are sheer tupidity at night!

if the tint is too dark and peelable most will get you to peel a section of before your allowed to continue so that the window tint is damaged and has to be removed

As Mike said it'll peel off.
My friend had full black tint on all windows on the Dodge he imported; the Police pulled him at a Tesco & gave him a produced to appear at a station a few days later without the tints; apparently they were quite apologetic about it & were really after the big bore exhaust saxo's.

local tint shop scraped them off for a fee.

go to police station and ask for advice from traffic officers or go to company that does tinting and ask them, but police station would ne a good start, some police traffic cars carry a device that lets them check kthe tint level i think.

I can't remember if it was Chrysler a few years ago, but tinted front side windows were put into some people carriers that were to dark to pass UK regulations, and it was only discovered when people started getting pulled and tested for dark side windows.

You will find a legal regulation for the amount of light allowed for the B-Pillar I can't remember but I'm sure the resident VOSA will confirm.

You can have as much tint as you want behind the B Pillar.

Between the B pillar and A pillar - allowed up to a 30 % tint. That means on the drivers and passenger doors the tint must allow 70% of light through. Police do have devices in their traffic cars to test. But any decent tinting company will also be able to advise.

The windscreen has to allow 75% of light to pass through.

Hope this helps

Rule of thumb.... Anything other than the factory tint foward of the B pillar will be too much.

If they reduce the light transmission by enough, yes.
