Does anyone know of anywhere in the UK prefurably near or in Essex that does siping on tyres??

Before you go down that route it might be worth checking that it's road-legal ('fraid I don't know the answer), and that your insurance company are happy with you modifing tyres in that way.

It might be easier to buy tyres with sipes. Pro-Comp MTs and X-Terrains have them.  Or, if you're after better on-road grip, then a tyre with a softer compound, like Goodyear Wrangler MT/Rs, may be better for your purposes.

Hmm hadn't occured that doing it would make them illegal.

I'll speak to the insurance peeps and see what they say.

I'm looking at getting x-terrains anyway, as I'm after a good road tyre thats also good offroad as I do quite a lot of motorway driving and changing at the weekend is not an option and after asking around they came out as the best allround.

snot legal, not allowed to modify road tyres, okay offroad though  :wink:
