Battery
« on: February 20, 2011, 12:51:18 PM »

I know its been on meny times.
But need a new batt for the XJ still has poss the original one ( partno 56041105ab cca 500 rc 100) worked fine over the snowy period but now zilch. Been looking at sites and found a Bosch 4008 at £69.99 or 4009. Site is CarBatteriesOnline , Notts phone number so not far away. Or a ABS096R at  £70..  Had optimas on previous and both packed up and the guarantee was 1 year.
Any thoughts - if u want sensible ones as well....

Read the warranty info if buying from Tayna.
I had a load of grief with them on an Odyssey I brought for my jetski; they refused to honour the warranty despite them including the warranty paperwork in the box; stated it was only 1 yr & not 2 as stated on paper.
At last a local motor factors or dealer has a window you can hurl it through when it breaks prematurely & they don't replace.

Spoke to the place i found on comp search, mail order only and the Bosch 4008 is a slight bit longer at 278 mm as the one fitted is 257mm. So thought just trim the end of the plate and bingo. Also they said it had a 4 year garantee .
