WJ MOT Failed on Lambda reading, any suggestions?
« on: March 05, 2011, 11:27:58 PM »

Hi guys

took the old WJ down the MOT station yesterday and got 9 fails.
Most are straightforward:
1 & 2: Two headlights too low, (soggy front suspension,)
3:    numberplate bulbs blown,
4:   Body sharp edge: tyres ripped up wheel arch,
5:   Exhaust leak from holed silencer.
6:   windscreen washer, bad motor.
7:   Parking brake inefficient.

These should be straightforward although any suggestions for fixing silencer pinholes welcomed.

8:   Power Steering inoperative: so it looks like I'll be doing my first pump swap.

Tricking one is:
9:   Exhaust emissions Lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits [7.3.D.2b]

any suggestions how I go about fixing that one?

Jeep has been unused since New Year so someone suggested an hour or twos drive.

It'd because there's a hole in the exhaust. Fix it.
