TJ Wrangler 4 litre, lifted, common faults?
« on: March 07, 2011, 07:38:19 PM »

Pickin up new Jeep this week, lifted 4" Wrangler 2000, 78,000 miles, FSH, any common faults I should look out for? Do they suffer the same as lifted YJ's around the steering box?

As ever thanks in advance Maf

PS Just bought another GC WJ V8  :greggmo:

Well done on both counts....check for seal on rear diff/prop shaft and watch out for rad leaking and power steering box

Oh and headlamp switch playing up

Happy punch hunting

Thanks guys,

GC V8 has only done 63,000 and is only 20 miles away, so I thought it would be rude not to buy it...

TJ, well, it's my birthday on Saturday and it's 'big' one haha.... miss my YJ, Cherokee does very well in punch hunts, but something shorter will of course do better...some will say it's a crime to use it... I say use it for what it's good at... will look at some protection though, at least doors can be removed, which makes it better in punch hunts  :icon_winkle:

Poss got a set of 35" creppy crawlers lined up  :greggmo: Will prob get a winch... not sure if I'll run lockers though... puts Jeep in to top class and your up again challenge spec traybacks...

Good call... anyone know anything about 'trailmaster' kit (I,ve never heard of it)and how I can spot if it's 4" lift... I'm guessing, but a 2" kit aint gunna fit 33" tyres? Looking at trailmastersuspension.com website, looks like good stuff, part numbers for complete kits, but guess that aint gunna be on any parts?

Really want this Jeep to be right and any help to confirm, will be great, thanks again Maf
