XJ 2.5 Diesel - Oil pan drain plug size?
« on: March 24, 2011, 07:01:01 PM »

Hi all,

I'm going to do my first oil change and have a real noob question about the drain plug size for the oil pan? I read some people on the net saying 16mm, others says 5/8, but I'm struggling to find somewhere say it for sure.

Another daft question. All the pictures/diagrams I've seen show the drain plug at an angle on the pan, whereas under my 2001 60th Anno it seems to be directly underneath it, on a flat. Why is mine different to all these others?

Thanks

Thanks for your replies. I wanted to be a cheapskate and just get one plug key instead of a set! The sets that I found didn't have (what turned out to be) the right size so I wouldn't have been any better off. Thanks anyway.

If anyone needs to know - it's 8mm hex. This is for a 60th Anniversary model.
