Engine mounting position
«

Can anyone tell me which holes/position is the correct one to use to mount the engine to the frame, mine seems to have a number of holes some of which are probably not factory. I'm using factory mounts so want everything to line up correctly

finding the origionals might need some measuring of another jeep for reference, or place the engine in place and align the drivline then see where the mounts line up without being stretched to odd positions

you may also find the hole options are for different engine options which different mounts, recon you will find that the new mounts will only line up with one set of holes

So what you are saying is mount the trans and transfer on the cross member then align this with the appropiate holes for the engine mounts? How do I know where/how the transfer mounts to the cross member as my original setup definetly did not look standard, I however noticed that the cross member has not been shifted from its original position just a packer placed between the frame rail and the cross member

I think if you are fitting that 360 from Bulldog then you will need to buy or make one engine mount anyway as they are different on the full size Jeeps but you would need someone who has fitted one to tell you precisely what needs doing and how to do it

I have brought the proper CJ V8 engine mounts for it, so it should bolt directly in

The original engine mount holes put in by Jeep should be sleeved internally, if anyones added any it should be obvious and if you still have the original cross member bolted into the correct place then it should all fit straight in
