Renewing rear brakes tomorrow, have the new ones and one shoe has a slightly thicker lining than the other is this correct?

One with the meat goes rearwards for handbrake duties........
Although in the past I've put them tother way round by mistake
Handbrakes on TJs YJs and Cheerys are so pants you'de never know the difference tho.

just fit them as the orientation makes no difference on the XJ, the handbrake only works effectively once a year for the mot to be fair. make sure when you swap the pressed in peg for the adjuster ratchet that you make sure it's in tight (peened in) so it doesn't work loose and fall out
