Half Doors
« on: May 23, 2011, 06:59:50 PM »

My Mitsi J26 has been stood for a while (9 months) but with a bit of carb cleaner down it's throat and a well charged battery on it fired up 3rd turn of the key this Saturday.
I had been told the head gasket had blown but with the help of a neighbour found out that the garage that "repaired" the dizzy set the dwell to over 25 degrees BTDC instead of the 7 that it should of been and to top it off hadn't secured the points so they weren't openeing. I've no idea how we got it to run even as rough as it did.

Anyhow with the timming done the overheating and miss fire problem which I was told was due to the head gasket was solved, cost me £40 and a bottle of Brandy. :)

As I've now got the windscreen to swing down onto the top of the bonnet and the doors/top frames to come off without any problems.
I'm now looking for a set of half doors preferably light brown fabric.

Any help will be very much appreciated,
Bern
