read this a while back on a different website (think i posted here but not sure) seriously considering trying it if a can find a FOC xj column

most jeep columns from the 80's are gm sourced and fit a variety of vehicles so I don't see why it can't be done

Should be straightforward. Did a similar thing on a certain MJ. The ignition switch on the AMC style column works the opposite way round to the later Chrysler one. I made a hybrid out of the two switches so the original harness plugged straight in. Yje rest can be made to work no problem as long as you're happy playing with electrics.
