Pardon me for being argumentative, but I really don't think you can trim a Cherokee widetrack by much at all.
The only thing you can trim away are the fender flares, so if you keep trimming, you end up with no fender flares at all.
Then you got what amounts to a trimmed narrow track body sitting on widetrack axles with big fat tyres.
I've seen pictures from the US of flat flares fitted like on the front of a M715, but then you got to make the edges safe so you don't slice some kids face in half
