for the first time in weeks everything has come together, desire and opportunity at the same time is a real rarity these days but managed a start on the 360, few missing bolts replaced (sump pan) and some bodged bits removed (studding with a nylock welded on the end holding on the water pump) then out with the wire brushes and paint.

aint done an axle rebuild yet mate, but dont you need dti and stuff to set it up. looks like you have the paste to see how the gears are meshing

got a DTI and mag base, was more thinking of parts I missed or special tools, wont be able to start till Friday and have to be rolling by Monday (only got use of the workshop for the weekend) so gotta have it all here or I'm screwed

have fun use ya shim stack thats aleady there as a start point you will need to check mesh patern cant se inch lb torque rench to measure preload rolling resistance

o and mind ya fingers getting the plates and beval washer enjoy

its 4" clamp type, 2 half moons with 2 draw bolts same one I used on the CJ axle

at last found some core plugs at a reasonable price, some places wanted almost a fiver each, got the 6 block side for a tenner in the end and will order the rear block plug when I get the block of the stand to measure it, cylinder head plugs are fine so will leave them as is.

oh FFS Bruce, we used to make core plugs by the 100,000's.

Still got some sizes in stock, let me know what dia your after, metric or imperial & i'll see if we have anything.

sods law aint it, fitted the block core plugs, finished painting the block and flipped the engine to clean the heads and inlet manifold ready to paint and seems I missed one of the head plugs has a hole right in the middle filled with crud, so Gaz if you have a supply a full 360 set is

10 x 1-1/2"
4 x 1"
1 x 2-1/8" (some castings also have an extra 1-1/2" plug behind the flywheel so I have read)

got the plugs for this block now but I could do with a spare set for when I rebuild the other 360
