if you know and love engines you know that almost all can sing a sweet song as long as its more than four cylinders sixs are silky sweet smooth v8s make the nicest noise but the 2 stroke Detroits are insanely gorgeous v12s are smashin aka rolls merlin yet the Ferrari v12 seems all rasp and i dunno less pleasing

I got my hands on a 5 litre can of industrial bitumen paint. It is used to protect steel frames in the construction industry.
All good because in essence it is just 'TAR' but then a bit more gucchi.

I'm sure that the bottom of the truck will not develop any rust in the next few years.

The only thing is Bitumen will never really harden out like traditional paint. When it gets hot it will go soft'ish.

In my case not really a problem because I put this plastic penny stud matting in as an interior floor cover. but I painted the
transmission tunnel in it as well which is not covered.

I may have a black mark on my boots now and again but metal moth wont have a chance.

Errrr....no

Only had a 1/4 Litre tester from the supplier so Darren (my painter) said, lets do the bonnet. Should be enough for that and then clearcoat
so we can see how it looks. No use starting on the patches on the truck because if you run out even a new batch could have colour difference.

All good......untill........just before last coat...... fooking thing drops off the hooks on the floor .....Big Oh shit moment !!!!

No damage done but after a quick wipe down not enough paint left to finish ...... the areas that do have a decent covering looks the muts nuts.

After a beer to calm the nerves made a battle plan for the truck......and Daz said, seeing that my name will be on it when you drive it into the yard
no use trying to blow in odd patches..... it'll look like shite.

I'll call the supplier, organize more paint & clearcoat and do the whole truck for you.

Sort of dreaded having to take more gear off the tub and having to sand the whole thing ........ but if somebody offers to come back Saturday to finish bonnet
and then do whole truck, and then come back on Sunday for clearcoat, I wont argue with him.

The whole TLC thing is now turning into quite a serious affair
