Following a misfire problem that got worse and more frequent:
Today I have been replacing numerous parts on the XJ - coil, distributor, cap, rotor, wires, plugs. It's already had new Mopar cam and crank position sensors.
All done, fired up lovely, let it warm up a bit while I put tools away, came back and touched the accelerator and it died, won't re-start, just cranks, like when a cam or crank sensor goes.
Checks with the scanner and have p0340 and p0320 - both cam sensor, ignition speed circuit codes plus an O2 sensor high voltage code (sensor is fine, it's due to running rich due to misfire and triggering this code, scanner showed it fluctuating low to high correctly when engine running - at least what I think is correct).
I've come to the conclusion that there must be a broken wire somewhere in the run from the cam sensor but does anyone have any ideas where to start or if it's something else completely? Not a job I'm looking forward to
Any ideas or experience of similar would be very welcome.
