Stalling on my Grand cherokee v8
« on: December 04, 2011, 02:30:09 PM »

Hi all looking for some help!!!!!
I have a grd cherokee overland 4.7 v8 on a 2002 model with lpg conversion.
a few months back when i returned from trip in euro my engine light came on my dash. It did not cause me any problems as car continued working well so i carriele d on using it> However i have noticed that a small problem with stalling has now developed and has become more consistent.
In the morning she will start and run a little lumpy when cold almost like too much fuel and about to flood but she will not idle and just stall> as she gets warmer its better but she will still stall if i come to a stop but if car keeps mooving at about 20 mls an hour its ok> also noticed that at first when i start her up ,it just stinks of fuel but this does go away very soon after. Any ideas why the stalling??? or anyone with similar problem???

it sounds like your lambda sensors are playing up or knackered, you need to  see if you can pull off any engine error codes using a scan tool or  the display/ignition  trick.

Possible throttle position sensor as well if its got erratic idle. Had that on mine and it would also stall when the sensor was playing up.

Remove the LPG set up and throw it over a hedge?
