Hi
Can anyone recommend a high output alternator for my TJ, I've got an X9 winch and Optima yellow top battery fitted. I'm having a go at the enduro event up in the Highlands which will include a lot of winching.
Cheers

Can't give a personal recommendation Richard, but Mean Green alternators are highly regarded. IIRC they churn out around 170 amps, and about 100 amps at idle.

Mean Green are meant to be one of the best at tickover. Again, no personal experience though.. only got sidetracked while looking for a Paj replacement uprated alternator. (And they don't do one for a paj
)
Usual suspects in the US I reckon....

have a word with a frendly local auto electricians shop they will put you on to any after market or standard altinators think abuot it thers loads of motors out there loaded with electric doodads you may find a very high output altinator cheaper and easyer to find than mean green i did this a few years back when building a recovery landy got a 300amp job for about 80quid it ran a husky rear and 8274 out front
