My window winder stopped working so I figured I should fix it,  did a web search and found this link, http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Body/XJ_Power_Window_Regulator_Fix.htm a good fix but sadly not for mine the wire wound cable on mine snapped. I'm not suprised the cable and gear on the motor were full a of a hard paste of grease and crud and the cable eventually gave out. Anybody know where i can get a cable or an old regulator drivers door?
If your window winders are tired the gear and cable probably need cleaning and you might not finish with a knackered window regulator.

you didnt say which side or whether front or back,which might help.Theres plenty of breakers around that could help,even been a few breaking on here so check the exchange and mart

Hi sorry I thought drivers door? would = O/S/F in the uk, anyway I shall repair this rather than throw money at a typical money making part  by Jeep, the failed part ie the cable (Wire wound bowden cable) would cost less than a fiver there is nothing wrong with the rest of the mechanism so it will be repaired if possible.

NOW FIXED I don't like parting with money
Took the two bits of cable out, cut the inner bowden back 1" on one piece twisted the spirals together and silver soldered it togeher making sure  both bits of bowden were included.Greased and put the cable back in the other way on. It is assembled now in the jeep and working cost some silver solder and a bit of time. Only drawback is it doesn't go all the way down now i lost an 1.5" of movement.
