TJ power steering box
« on: January 30, 2012, 07:02:56 PM »

so, i noticed at the weekend that my power steering box is leaking fluid, however my steering seems to be ok, so what are the options? are they re-buildable? are there seal kits available, or do i need to find one off an xj and fit that?

yes you can get a seal kit, if thats the only problem do it.
If its notchy and leaking it can be rebuilt, there are a couple of places local to me, jaygee is the one that comes to mind
and finally an xj box will fit, got one fitted to one of mine ( thanks panic x) valving is apparently different but i find it fine  :greggmo:

There are seal kits and I don't think they were over the top in price. It's been a long time but I think the kit had a hand full of seals and an odd steel laminated gasket for the top cover. Where is your box leaking?
