Chrome Wheel Restoration
«

Hi,
Can anybody help with advice or has had any experience of restoring the original Laredo/Renegade chrome 8 spoke wheels back to an as new condition? I talked to a couple of chroming companies a while ago and due to the shape they said they couldn't be done. My wheels aren't in bad shape but I'd like to try and get them up to the standard of the rest on my CJ.
Thanks in advance,
Adam

unless the rims are uber-rear (and these 8 spokes are not ) then usually cheaper to buy new, expect to pay £300+ to strip and re-chrome a set of 4

I reckon the best option would be to key them up, etch prime them, then spray satin black

Thanks for all for the advice and humour : )
I'm not in a hurry so I'll keep trying and look in the classic car mags for leads.
I put some pictures of my CJ up on my profile page; now just waiting for the sun to shine so I can take her out.
