Random loss of complete power / electrics
« on: May 03, 2012, 08:28:08 PM »

Hi. Yet another question !! Does anyone have any idea as to why my jeep 2.5td 1999 sometimes just shuts off completely. It has happened twice to the missus whilst she was parking. You get no warning it just dies. Even complete electric loss. No lights left on the dash at all.

It happened to me at 50 mph but i did notice the engine management light flash a couple of times then ..... kaput .... no power steering , no engine power ... you just have to coast to a halt. Turn off the ignition and leave it for a few seconds then try it again and its fine. Has been ok since ( about 4 weeks ) but off road at the mo.

Any ideas ?

Cheers  :greggmo:

It will be worth the money to get a diagnostic done  on it first. It could be loads of things to be honest, and rather everyone speculate and confuse you even more get a scan done.
