Yep nowt wrong with that as a get you home bodge :003:

The wood is likely to be as strong as the bit of tube its replacing in the directions the normal
forces are being applied the only bit that matters is getting adequate clamping force on the
threads of the ball joints.

never had to fix a jeep tie rod or draglink the ones on my WJ look up to the job
but i have had several fail on lardies they are made of cheese
and normally binned for solid bars asap for anything remotely strenuous off road

i have so far bent 2 TJ tie rods, they are very thin walled  :icon_winkle:

couldn't find any wood so i replaced my xj steering with v8 zj stuff nice and beefy
