Wiring new courtesy lights
« on: July 13, 2012, 11:49:35 PM »

HI all i am going to be wiring up some addtional courtesy lights to the jeep over the next week to work with interior lights

Now i know how tho wire up the spots to the main beam as the diagram shows.

However can i have more than one feed to the 86 pole as i would like to run the lights with the interior or  can be switch on by themselves.

and does anything happen if i have the lights ON and then open the door switching on the interior light??

not done it myself, thinking back to electronics at school you would have to diode the feeds into 86 otherwise one would power the other

your getting technical there.....

why do you need a diode for a simple switched 12v feed to the lights?

never done that in the past and never had any problems except for a poor choice in the earth connection

you need the diode to stop the main beam feed turning on your interior lights

ok is this being made more complicated than realy needed?

why cant you just tap into the origional interior light circuit with an overide switch, rather than using the main lighting loom and risking feed back as mentioned if diodes are not used
