Finally received my mirror location brackets (asked someone to look into getting me some back in March), as i want to be able to run doorless.

Top tip, loosening dash makes getting to the speakers (and windscreen bolts) sooo much easier. Removes need to be triple jointed, and DOESN'T remove as much knuckle skin!

Also gave me a chance to remove OEM dash speakers. already out of service when i got the Heep (10 years ago) and fooked anyway. Removing them gives a lot more room to find and locate the windscreen nuts. And yes, if you're trying to undo the windscreen bolts, you WILL be finding and locating the ^%&(^%ing nuts. They are tackwelded using cream cheese and will break loose when you turn the bolt. Oh, they're covered with rust protection which needs to be scraped off.

Main reason for attacking the windscreen and dash yesterday was to get these fitted. Mirror relocation brackets, so i can run without doors. TBH, a lot of work for not much return. Because the mirrors are a lot further forward, the they are hidden by the windscreen frame. Drivers mirror (LH in my case) is ok, but passenger (rh) has to be set so you can see it through the windscreen, rather than at the side.
Already thinking up a way of modifying the mounts so they can be fitted in a better position (edge of dash, perhaps integrated into the triangular windscreen bracket)
