I have them on my XJ - needs the WJ steering kunckles, steering links, some spacers, 16" or bigger wheels and few more bits so probably not what you'd call a straight fit. There is a bolt on big brake upgrade available for $$$ out there though

WJ carriers on the stock axle, WJ tie bars and TRE. disks remain the same but junk thr 15" rims as they wont fit over the calipers. standard upgrade for cherokees. Just a little more than a bolt on im afraid. quite a few web sites out there give basic details on what to do

Pretty much what has been said but uses wj disks redrilled and needs some spacers.

Mike, do the chevy calipers mount straight onto the wj knuckles? If yes, do you know what vehicle they are from? Also, is the mount for the transporter calipers a custom one?

If anyone is really interested in the wj upgrade I can help out with parts list and fitting but haven't got time to do full glossy write up at the mo

James,

Front axle
I doubt stock calipers will fit.  Knuckles, brakes and brackets came from Down East Offroad, bits of thier high steer system.  Knuckles were then modified in the UK to allow tie rod to be fitted above knuckle arms, gives about an 1 1/2" extra tie rod clearance. Tie rod & draglink came from ORFAB (not the same as OR-FAB), a company that I believe is no longer trading and use ZJ joints. Very strong setup, I've never broken any part of it, replacing D30 because of R&P breakages.

Rear axle
VW transporter calipers use custom brackets and new handbrake cables. Brackets allow calipers to be mounted at approximately 1 O'Clock position, keeps them out of harms way.

Interesting. My front conversion is based on stock wj knuckles and calipers with steering links from JKS as well as spacers on the knuckles made by JKS. I also flipped the mounting points for the tie rod and drag link using goferit inserts. Additional to this was a Clayton track bar kit.

The wj calipers and discs are much bigger and although I haven't had a problem they can seize pistons like stock ones.

Re. Transporter calipers, could you provide an pictures of them, brackets are mostly what I'm interested in?
