I have been trying to get the XJ ready for Cheapfest so here is the last 2 weeks of evening story.
I first fitted a 3in lift that turned out to be crap so i had a rethink and luckily some more parts became available, I have now fitted a 4.5in lift with all new springs and shocks, extended brake lines and a slip yoke eliminator. Changed all the oil in the diffs and fitted diff guards, a fuel tank skid and a transfer case skid. While fitting the rear brake pipe one of the lines broke so that had to be replaced. I broke all 4 bolts that hold the top of the rear shocks in place so they had to be sorted also had fun with the track bar. Nearly forgot I've fitted a pair of rock sliders on the sides. Today i fitted a safari snorkel which was a real pain in the arse. And tomorrow i need to source a windscreen washer bottle from the scrap yard and fit that. I am also waiting for my wheel arches that should have been delivered last Friday, they got returned to the sender because they were listed as flares and the courier would not deliver flares [ mistook them as explosives ] Twats..... Also had to fit a new thermostat gasket and to top it all off when i took it out to get the steering checked, on my way home the offside brake caliper stuck on. Nearly there now and it should be ready i hope. If not I'm coming in my TJ. Just thought the XJ has no tax yet,
