Lose the silencer?
« on: September 25, 2012, 04:10:08 PM »

Hi all,

Has anyone ditched the silencer/muffler/backbox on a ZJ (96) for a straight through pipe? If so, any undesirable effects?

Cheers

only one box and a cat on mine but when I had the new SS system made we went up 1/2" on the tube and we did go down to a smaller 4" box, more growl and more umph at low revs

Junked the silencer for a 3" x 2' cherry bomb. Nice rumble and not intrusive inside either
