grand cherokee 2.7 crd. fuel t piece.
« on: December 08, 2012, 07:22:38 PM »

Hi,

I have a 2004 grand cherokee 2.7crd, whilst changing thermostat today, I  broke the t piece of the low pressure pump return line, :headhack: :headhack: These things are very brittle, anyone know if its suitable using some araldite to glue together? Jeep say I have to buy complete fuel lines at their rip off prices, apparently cant reuse old pipes with new t piece? And i don't think the t piece would come away from hoses, stuck in solid.

Any ideas?

any good?

Hi,

Something like that would properly fit, the problem is, the broken t piece wont come away from the other hoses no matter how hard I pull, they must have been heated up when they were manufactured, then when they cool, they would tighten over T piece. All the hoses are hard plastic lines. I could cut the hoses back past the T piece, but then the lines would be to short.

Looks like it might be the expensive route.

Hmmmm..... been there 3 months ago, complete replacement of fuel pipes on the WJ....... needed doing anyway because they become brittle and let air in.... 450'ish squids @ Jeep.  Time to flash some plastic  :icon_winkle:

Chop & joint. You can cover in Heat Shrink sleeving which makes a water tight seal. I use a Gas soldering Iron to do this and to soften up tubing etc.  There's alway's a cheap way round.
