FFS RC and Shaggy

So i have some knocking issues with this long arm lift, thinking either rear propshaft (its at a negative angle rather than a positive, by positive i mean normal at the axle end) or bush bolts ie factory hardware (as specified by RC to re-use) to small, and then Shaggy decided to celebrate his sledging run with a yey with arms in the air and he slips and rips the tendon off the bone that holds his thumb in place, 6 weeks he is in plaster hoping it heals or if it dont then an operation and more weeks of recoup.

Gonna speak to propshafts greno uk and sort some double cardans for the front and rear with sliders on both, then its a control arm bolt search

Shaggy dood, get well soon mate and get back under my truck you are not finished  :003:

Honestly feel for ya buddy

Tis' true, I'm sat here feeling like a proper pleb! right arm all splinted up & in a sling, I aren't even allowed to use my fingers for 4 weeks! No driving for supposedly 6 weeks & we have all this lovely white stuff, means I have had to let Toni loose in the Jeep :icon_sad: Though it was kinda amusing yesterday watching her trying to get the gas nozzle on!! It's funny in our house now as I aren't allowed to use my right arm at all & Toni's is weak after her stroke & we are both right handed! :icon_winkle:
So the moral to this tale, don't play in the snow with your kids (it's bad for your health) or if you do don't celebrate the best sledging run of the day! :icon_redface:

Does the kit use Johnny Joints on the arms (or similar)? I found my kit on the XJ was noisy because of the slight difference in size between the 14mm control arm bolts and the 9/16" diameter hole in the Johnny Joints. I didn't notice it at first but over time this difference contributed to slight ovalling of the holes in the control arm brackets on the axle. New 9/16" bolts and washers and plate welded to the axle brackets seem to have fixed it for minimal cost.

I do find the longarm kit increased noise, my opinion is that all my joints are now semi-solid JJs and the place where the long-arms mount to the body is right under my feet.

Couple of knocks on the front now after a re grease and all rose joints tightened, the main knock was coming from the rear A frame banging on one of the bolt heads, adjusted now so 1 it no longer knocks 2 the rear drive shaft is ay a more normal angle now and replacing the UCA bush on the axle has helped as the old lifetime assured polybush was oval inside  :icon_rolleyes: .

Any knocks left are probably the disconnects, will keep an eye out for any wear in that area  :icon_winkle:
