caliper / wheel clearance

what would the likely minimum be betwix the caliper and wheel rim ?   :017:
with a bit of tinkering,as you do  :icon_winkle:
I now have wj steering knuckles and brakes on the xj  :greggmo:
i've got 8-10mm   :lol_hitting:

Good work. I'd say that was ok but from no engineering background whatsoever. I would check my wj xj setup but it's in bits at the moment. I'm running the later akebono calipers with 16" steel rims and never worried about clearance. 15s wouldn't fit when I tried.

Thats the trouble James, 15" rims. I have 33x15x 12.50s to go on the rims I got off Willo, to many jaffa cakes invested to go 16"  :011:
Anyways its about 5-6mm after final assembly on the bench, I may stick a 8-10mm spacer on  :icon_confused: which I didn't want to do.

5mm may be OK - just depends how much the calipers flew when breaking - only way is to try
